Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Forecast/Audit Tax Manager, located in Titusville, NJ. The Ortho-McNeil Janssen Pharmaceutical Services (OMJPS) Centers of Excellence is comprised of Finance/Health Care Compliance, Human Resources/Sales Training, Information Management, New Business Development/Business Intelligence, Process Excellence/Strategic Planning, Sales & Marketing Services, and Strategic Business Group. These Centers of Excellence support the business of PriCara, Unit of Ortho-McNeil, Inc., Ortho-McNeil Neurologics, Inc., Janssen, L.P., and Ortho-McNeil Janssen Scientific Affairs. Responsible for tax forecasting and federal and state audit support, for OMJPI legal entities. This includes forecasting systems and sourcing tax related to Puerto Rico operations. Work directly with finance management and various partners within other business functions to prepare financial analysis to offer recommendations on taxes. Highly visible position interacting with Tax Director, Finance Controllers and staffs of Financial Accounting and GPSG. Work with Domestic and Int'l Tax Manager to improve and maintain all tax processes including templates, corporate submissions and communication. This includes joint responsibility for transparency in forecasted and financial close processes and tax rates. The ability to function as a liaison between the Tax group and various J&J teams is imperative. Another component of this position is managing the Research Tax Credit process for the OMJPI tax return, including identifying, interviewing and documenting non-traditional qualified projects using the PLANITAX software system. Additional responsibilities include supervision of a staff of 3, oversight of all sales and use, property and miscellaneous tax returns for all OMJPI legal entities and affiliates. Tax department liaison for the OMJ Vertex sales tax system. The right candidate for this position will exhibit the ability to multi-task, to prioritize effectively, meet challenging deadlines and be able to manage the business at a high level. They will need to function both independently and lead teams and play integral roles within a team with an innovative focus. It is expected that the Manager will maintain and increase knowledge in Domestic and International tax and finance disciplines as well as the business on an ongoing basis. Additionally, demonstrate strong business acumen and apply strong tax technical, accounting, analytical and finance skills.
Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelors degree is required. A major in Accounting or Finance is preferred. A CPA, MBA, CMA, or other financial certifications are preferred. A minimum of 5 years business experience is required. 3 years of tax experience is preferred. Audit experience in sales tax and/or income tax is a plus. Prior supervisory/management is preferred. Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or consumer products industries as well as public accounting is preferred. Excellent analytical, conceptual, management, communication and interpersonal skills are required. An advanced knowledge of tax is strongly preferred. The ability to think creatively and work in a cross-functional team environment is required. Must be able to work well in a dynamic environment with the ability to recommend and implement process improvements is required. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required. The ability to effectively take on leadership roles in various functions is required. This position will require a minimum of 5% local travel to Johnson & Johnson owned operating companies located in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
