This is an exciting opportunity for people who have excellent interpersonal skill in industries such as retail and management, experienced transportation professionals, or recent college graduates looking to enter our management trainee program.

Typically positions are available in Fleet Management in Iowa City IA (corporate offices), Atlanta GA, Columbus OH, Kingsport TN, Chester VA, Carlisle PA, Olive Branch MS, Phoenix AZ, or Jacksonville FL.
 Job Function: 

The Fleet Manager is Heartland Express' key operations link between the organization and both drivers and customers.  The primary responsibilities of this position are to coach/mentor a group of experienced drivers and achieve specific customer service and key company goals. 

Job Duties:

Ensure successful execution of customer expectations on orders.

Ensure fulfillment of fleet needs       

Package the driver for transportation planning timely and accurately

Maintain on-line personnel file on each driver employee in the driver profile

Ensure driver safety and DOT regulation compliance

Provide coverage for other FM's during lunch and other absences

Perform additional duties as required

Jobs Skills Needed:

                Basic computer familiarity and keyboard skills

                Knowledge of applicable DOT regulations

                Basic understanding of transportation equipment/terminology

                Knowledge of U.S. geography and map reading

                Excellent written and verbal communication skills

                Organize and schedule workday independently

                Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, service-driven environment

                Identify and manage crisis situations autonomously

                Good interpersonal skills and service attitude
