Job Description: Manager - Disney Interactive Studios Controllership City: Glendale State: CA Position Type: Full-time Requisition ID: 146875 Financial Reporting Manager – Disney Interactive Studios Department Overview: Disney Interactive Studios (DIS) is the interactive entertainment arm of The Walt Disney Company. DIS publishes a broad portfolio of creative, innovative and dynamic video games on multiple platforms for audiences of all ages. DIS games are based on the wide range of intellectual properties of The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries, including feature film, television and publishing. DIS owns four internal video game development studios, Avalanche Software and Fall Line based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Propaganda Games located in Vancouver, British Columbia and Junction Point located in Austin, Texas. The Manager, reports to the Senior Manager – Financial Reporting and works with various stakeholders across within DIS as well as Disney Consumer Products (DCP) and Shared Service Organizations worldwide. The Manager – Financial Reporting is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Disney Interactive Studios - Europe fincancial statements through compliance with GAAP and Disney accounting policies. Additionally, the Manager – Financial Reporting will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and Minimum Standards requirements for the European entities. Key Responsibilities Responsible for managing critical path for close of European region Interact with WDI Shared Service Center to ensure accuracy of accounting tasks related to DIS’ European activities (accruals, interface reconciliations, monitoring of key accounts, balance sheet reconciliations etc.) Proactively communicate all accounting issues at WDI with Senior Manager – Financial Reporting so issues can be addressed prior to monthly close Partner with Segment to address questions related to quarterly reporting requirements. Escalates issues to Senior Manager and Controller as necessary. Review Price Protection and Return Reserve analysis for Disney Interactive Studios activities in the European market Ensure DIS processes are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and Minimum Standards requirements (Record retention, use of spreadsheets for estimates etc?) Assist the Controller and Senior Manager with special projects as required (ie accounting for new acquisitions) Required Skills/Experience: A BS in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance is required CPA or equivalent 4-6 years work experience in private/public accounting (preferably with a Big 4 firm), auditing and financial reporting Excellent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management Ability to understand and present complex accounting and business issues Demonstrated orientation to adapt in a flexible, fast-paced work environment and ability to manage multiple and competing priorities Sarbanes Oxley compliance experience The Walt Disney Company, together with its subsidiaries, is a diversified worldwide entertainment company with 2007 annual revenues of $35.5 billion.
