Description:

AIG United Guaranty has an opportunity for an Financial Analyst. The primary responsibility is to assist FP&A, operating groups (groups) and overhead departments in financial modeling and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, various management reporting, and financial modeling.

The position will bring strong analytical, modeling, data retrieval, accounting and financial skills with an objective and corporate based viewpoint to enhance the financial planning and analyses functions of the organization. The position will provide, or ensure, deliverables are professional, contents accurate and consistent with other sources, estimates and forward looking forecasts well thought, timely, and understandable.

REQUIREMENTS:
•Review and analyze monthly financial performance of UGC consolidated and operating groups.
•Work with UGC Controllers Group to ensure proper financial tracking, research of issues and overall reporting at the corporate level.
•Research and implement most efficient means of financial data collection from various systems.
•Assist with completion and enhancement of monthly and quarterly management reporting.
•Assist with monthly forecasting by accurate and efficient updates of actual financial data, operating group’s volume and statistics data and validation of corporate results.
•Perform reasonability analysis of operating group’s budgets and forecasts and assist in long range forecasting and budget targeting.
•Maintain standard review packages for operating group budget presentations.
•Consolidate operating group forecast and budgets, while ensuring reasonableness of assumptions and projections.
•Develop, modify and maintain excel models to enhance monthly and strategic forecasting capabilities.
•Develop procedures to ensure safety, accuracy, and security of financial models and data.
•Assist with completion of quarterly competitor analysis and monitoring of competitor developments and industry issues.
•Perform analysis of profitability of products.
•Provide ongoing and ad hoc modeling and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required. Graduate degree or related training/education is a plus.
•3 to 5 years of financial analysis, modeling and budgeting/forecasting experience.
•Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Strong SAS or equivalent related experience preferred.
•Strong technical and problem solving skills, assertive personality and effective oral and written communication.
•Must be able to multi-task numerous projects and work independently without close supervision.
•Mortgage banking, mortgage insurance and/or financial services experience is a plus.
