Opportunity:

HomeAway is looking for a high-energy and well-rounded Financial Analyst to join the Financial Planning & Analysis Team, reporting to the manager of FP&A. The newly formed FP&A team is responsible for establishing world-class analytical and financial process standards, and building strong internal relationships to educate and assist business partners in understanding financial implications in the short, mid and long term horizons. This role in particular is vital to driving the annual planning, monthly reporting and forecasting processes.  In addition, this person will liaison with all departments through ad-hoc reporting requests and various financial projects. This role requires not only a thorough understanding of financial concepts and processes but also the ability to work extraordinarily well within a team environment and independently. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Consolidate and analyze reporting, spanning actuals, plan and forecast for use at all levels in the business with particular focus on the expense portion of the P&LIdentify trends and offer insight in actual results, working with management and business partners to determine possible impacts to plan and forecastEvaluate current manual processes and tools, suggest improvements and proactively implement themPartner with Accounting team to understand booked results impacts to forecasts as well as future forecasting implications to AccountingCreate ad-hoc financial models to support decision making

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Mathematics, plus 3 – 5 years of business experienceExpanded Excel skill set; VBA knowledge is preferredCreative problem-solver with a proven ability to tie microcosmic details of the business into their macrocosmic implicationsUnfailing attention to detail Strong time management and multi-tasking abilitiesExceptional verbal and written communication skillsExperience with PowerPoint, Word and a Database application
