AccountantGeneral Description: Reporting to the Manager of Grants, the Accountant is a member of the Financial Services Department. The Accountant performs a broad scope of professional accounting activities. Performs detailed reconciliations including account receivable billing and other general ledger account reconciliations; provides technical accounting support for fiscal period closings including preparation and submission of journal entries for proper accounting distribution. Responsible for analyzing, interpreting and implementing regulations and policies and procedures for the financial administration of agreements for externally funded projects. The Accountant researches federal, state and local compliance requirements for each grant and completes comprehensive audit work papers concerning grant activity.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Accounting of Finance. Minimum of three (3) years experience as a professional Accountant in a state or local government or nonprofit with grant administration and general ledger account reconciliation, Higher Education experience preferred. Manager, GrantsGeneral Description: Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager, Grants is responsible for implementing of compliance over $7 million in cost reimbursable grants, $13 million in Federal Financial Aid Assistance, and $600,000 in flat rate contracts. The Manager, Grants manages the post-award financial administration of grants and contracts including but not limited to developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and college-wide statutes, assisting with submission of grant proposals, overseeing grant budgets, and monitoring account activity.Qualifications: Professional Designation: CPA preferred. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Finance, and/or related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of (8) eight years of progressive relevant work in grant management and finance that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties and responsibilities. 3-5 years of supervisory experience in post award administration; higher education experience preferred.
