Accounting/Finance Manager

In this position, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the Financial Operating Plan. The right candidate will possess the ability to change “hats” quickly and frequently, and have a sharp attention to detail while at the same time understand the big picture. In addition, this individual will have the communication and problem solving skills necessary to work well both independently and with others to meet deadlines. Qualifications include a minimum of ten years experience in Accounting and Finance, as well as have a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance or are a Certified Public Accountant. Qualifications

·          Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance or a Certified Public Accountant.

·          Ten years experience in the Accounting /Finance role.

·          Management level organizational and growth planning experience.

·          Proficiency level in MS Word, MS Excel and an accounting software package. 

·          Working knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Protrax accounting software preferred.

·          Accounting and Finance experience within the architectural and/or engineering industry preferred.

 

Responsibilities

·          Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the Financial Operating Plan that supports the Strategic Plan.

·          Manages accounting department staff and is responsible for the general accounting, payroll, cost accounting, financial statements and reports, provisions for taxes, purchasing, and accounting and property records.

·          Builds the financial operating budget and works closely with other department managers to pull together the firm-wide budget for implementation and tracking; provides adequate supporting financial data and appropriate recommendations.

·          Assures the communication, understanding, and adherence to financial operating policies and practices.

·          Develops anticipated cash flow projections, policies, and procedures for frequent review and maintenance of cash requirements.

·          Analyzes and prepares statistics for periodic and annual financial data, including the preparation of charts and graphs showing progress, condition and results.

·          Reviews and maintains appropriateness of insurance requirements and makes recommendations that will maintain or improve corporate insurability.

·          Supervises the development and maintenance of suitable cost accounting systems for measurement of operating efficiency, costing of production, costing of sales.

·          Responsible for financial education training, by conducting in-house training, one-on-one training and making recommendations for specific topic training.

·          Aligns, enhances, and maintains business relationships with banker, vendors and consultants.

·          Maintains and expands professional capabilities through an inherent desire to learn, and a drive to be involved in professional organizations, seminars and reading.

·          Works cooperatively and in collaboration with management to enhance the firm by making it more efficient and profitable.

·          Participates in establishing corporate objectives, operating and strategic plans and policies.

·          Develops and recommends financial plans, policies, procedures and practices for management control in attaining forecasted revenue and profit.

·          Analyzes special problems and proposals involving the financial feasibility of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and expansion plans.
