Job Summary:

The Six Flags Atlanta Properties is looking for a talented and motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Controller. This position is designed to oversee the efficient operation of all accounting functions within the Finance department. Responsible for the accuracy and credibility of all financial records and reports, and for the implementation and maintenance of corporate and park approved accounting procedures and controls for Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags WhiteWater.

Organizational Structure:

Reports to the Director of Finance

Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain integrity of accounting and reporting systems in accordance with corporate guidelines and GAAP. Oversee, lead, and develop staff responsible for general accounting, treasury management, A/P, A/R, ticketing, cash control, and payroll functions. Review manual and system generated journal entries, bank reconciliations, credit card refunds, balance sheet account analysis. Key driver of month end close processes resulting in the culmination of a Controller's Reconciliation book detailing adherence to the company's audit procedures and the Sarbanes-Axle Act. Participate in Park Forecast meetings and budgeting processes. Assist with internal and external audit requirements. Assist with Corporate reporting and partnership reporting requirements. Other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Must Possess:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Five or more years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance. Prior supervisory experience. In-depth knowledge or accounting concepts including internal controls, balance sheet account analyses, bank reconciliation, and financial analysis techniques. Detail oriented, with the ability to create summarized, succinct, and meaningful reports and analysis. Strong analytical skills, ability to effectively identify issues and propose solutions. Strong decision making and critical thinking skills with the ability to provide "out of the box" thinking. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of management. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as Great Plains and FRx Reporting. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
