CITY: Minneapolis STATE: Minnesota COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities): Responsible for providing technical and customer support for installed systems. *Will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and debug complex electro/mechanical equipment, X-ray systems, and computer systems and/or complex software. *Will follow standard procedures to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software. *Report design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to technical support. *Work on complex problems where analysis of data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors. *Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. *Work with customer technicians who may, in some cases, respond for first line maintenance items. *Assume responsibility for continued customer satisfaction, and coordinate all activities with the customer. *Report activities, maintain local spare parts inventory, recording travel expenses and time card, submit Request for Engineering Action (REA), implement Field Service Bulletins (FSB), maintain customer log books, and use sound judgment when dealing with customers. *Other duties include maintaining excellent customer relations, professionally representing GE Security, assisting with customer training. Qualifications/Requirements: *Requires an AA degree in electronics or formal electronic vocational training. *A minimum of 3 years experience as a field service engineer in medical X-ray, CT, MRI or related equipment. *Computer experience is required; UNIX is preferable. *Must be able to work in extreme environments and lift heavy objects. *Good customer skills and the ability to work under pressure are required. *Must be self-starter, work well without supervision, and accept responsibility. *Requires both domestic and international travel. *You must be 18 years or older. *You must submit your application through www.gecareers.com. *You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process. *You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process. *You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. *You must be willing to work out of an office in Minneapolis, MN *You must be willing to accept an annual salary that is not more than $65,000.00 Desired: A bachelors in electronics is a plus.
