Field Research Biologist - Field Introgression
This is an exciting position in corn breed and traits introgression on the beautiful island of Molokai. If you have a BS/MS in breeding and experience with trait introgression we would like to talk to you.

RESPONSIBILITES
· Conduct various event sorting and trait introgression activities;
· Nursery planning
· Nursery site selection
· Seed handling, planting
· Thinning, gene checking,
· Tissue sampling, pollinating, note-taking
· Plant selection, harvesting
· Drying,
· Data analysis
· Reporting
· Seed shipping
Ensure that the program is in full compliance with all requirements governing regulated transgenic field testing activities.Provide on-going leadership, coaching and feedback to Research Technicians and part-time employees.Actively participate in a multi-disciplinary Field Introgression Team comprised of lab, field and management personnel.Contribute leadership skills, ideas and support for all station initiatives including those relating to HR, EH&S, cross-functional teams and community development activities.Travel to other Field Introgression locations and Research Stations and Laboratories as needed.
YOU MUST HAVE
B.S. or M.S. degree in Crop Genetics, agronomy or a related field.Solid understanding of genetics and/or molecular biology, agronomy, statistics, transgenic crop development, emerging technologies and customers needs.Previous experience with crop breeding program is desirable.Demonstrated personal leadership, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.Ability to take initiative and work effectively on teams.Capacity to adapt to living and working in a challenging environment.Must have enthusiasm and aptitude for learning and continuous improvement of critical research activities.Extremely well developed computer skills.
