Job Description: MWH, a recognized leader in Hydropower worldwide, is seeking a Field Project Controls Engineer for the Willow Island Hydroelectric Project.

MWH is serving as the Owner's Engineer for the Willow Island Hydroelectric Project, which will be on the West Virginia shore of the Ohio River, at the existing Willow Island Locks and Dam Project, near Parkersburg, West Virginia.The project will include a reinforced concrete powerhouse with two horizontal bulb-type turbine generating units with an estimated total capacity of 37 MW at a gross operating head of 20 feet, intake and tailrace channels, a concrete gravity dam, and a three mile transmission line.

The first phase of construction will start in the summer of 2008 and will consist of the cellular and earthen cofferdam construction and powerhouse excavation.The second phase will start in late 2009 and consist of the powerhouse construction, installation and startup of the generating units, balance of plant construction, intake and tailrace channel excavation, and cofferdam removal.The anticipated duration of the assignment is 48 months beginning in July 2008.

Field Project Controls Engineer Responsibilities & Qualifications:

The Field Project Controls Engineer will support the Resident Engineer (RE) in administering the contract and tracking project performance using the Critical Path Method (CPM) of planning and scheduling as well as Earned Value techniques.Duties will include maintenance of overall and contract specific project schedules; identification of cost/schedule issues as well as variances in project progress/status; assisting in the preparation and review of daily reports, weekly reports, and monthly reports; participation in the monthly meetings; review of contractor requisitions for payment; and assistance with construction supervision and management in overall project control activities. Job Experience: The successful candidate must possess an engineering degree from an accredited university or technical institute or demonstrated equivalent experience. Candidate should have 5 to 10 years of experience developing and maintaining project schedules for complex construction projects valued at $50m+. Candidate must be proficient in Primavera P3, or other similar scheduling software.

Candidates will work in a field office at the project site and will be required to work in a manner that ensures personal safety as well as the safety of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
