PURPOSE OF THIS JOB

The Field Marketing Manager (FMM) is responsible for driving Red Bull’s creative marketing strategies through a Sampling team, Collegiate Marketing, Events & Opinion Leaders within a geographic market area. This includes: management of the strategic marketing direction of the brand; support and management of brands marketing objectives, strategies and philosophies; creation, planning and execution of marketing events and programs; and the integration of marketing into key sales initiatives to build brand awareness, brand love, word of mouth for Red Bull and product sales.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE ACHIEVEMENT OF KEY RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES

1. Bring Red Bull image to life by developing Image Building strategies through (a) Relationship development, (b) Event Support, (c) Innovation and (d) Activating Red Bull Properties among relevant audiences

a. Relationship development

i. Entrench yourself & Red Bull in the local sport & culture scenes relevant to key targeted consumers

ii. Develop & maintain relationships with opinion leaders in your market for the key image building scenes in sport & culture

b. Event Support

i. Engage in grassroots events for sports & culture that are relevant to Red Bull brand & our key targeted consumers

ii. Add value to 3rd party events by determining appropriate level of Red Bull brand support & branding

c. Innovation

i. With local network of opinion leaders, develop new ideas that bring the brand to life through local image building scenes in sport & culture

ii. Utilize internal network of BMs, FMMs, Sport & Cultural specialists, HQ & approved agencies during creative process

iii. Submit new ideas on a monthly basis for events & opinion leader projects

d. Activate Red Bull Events & Properties

i. Activate & leverage global, national & regional events & properties that fit within established local market business plan

2. Manage sampling team managers (TMs) to run a ‘fun grassroots sampling program’ that builds belief in brand benefits.

a. Sampling Program

i. Together with TMs set clear goals for TMs to ensure they are accountable to key sampling team deliverables

ii. Network to feed the TMs with ideas, opportunities and contacts to unlock sampling opportunities along the strategic sampling goals in the markets.

iii. Actively coach TMs to continually reinforce best practice and delivery against defined strategy

3. Creates Red Bulls collegiate marketing strategies for local collegiate universe

a. Collegiate Marketing

i. Actively manage a team of college students on key area colleges (SBMs) to make Red Bull an integral and relevant part of student life

ii. Activate campus relationships & integrate Red Bull marketing strategies into functional & image building opportunities with college students on and off campus

iii. Develop alignment with sales regarding campus distribution opportunities & trade marketing

4. Develops and shares Best Practices

a. Actively reports marketing activities to internal marketing team and market area sales team

b. Aligns and communicates the most effective programs to TMs, SBMs & local sales team

5. Create & manages strategic marketing plans based on national, regional and market objectives

a. Conducts local market research through local contacts, events & media outlets for sport & culture & identifies opportunities for Red Bull

b. Develops focused marketing plans for the local market based on Red Bull marketing strategies

c. Maximize a strong ROI by supporting & creating key events/scenes/marketing opportunities that are reflective of the Red Bull Brand values

6. Bridge the gap between targeted consumers & Red Bull brand through communications

a. Work with internal team & Communication Manager to create communication strategies for appropriate marketing activities

b. Leverage local media merchandising opportunities

7. Improve through training & development

a. Attend appropriate HR training sessions

b. In collaboration with CMM, identify training opportunities for TMs

c. Conducts on going performance reviews for TMs with assistance from Brand Manager through monthly report feedback & performance reviews

8. Speak as one voice to local consumers through sales & marketing

a. Identify & selectively support collaborative sales & marketing opportunities

b. Work in conjunction with the market area sales team to insure that marketing initiatives and programs are leveraged across the sales channel and the brand image is brought to life within the On Premise environment and with key customers

c. Actively participate in meetings with local sales team to align marketing & sales strategies

9. Develops & manage marketing budgets

a. Together with BM asses marketing plans develop & manage budgets based off plan

b. Manages expensing, budgetary authorization and other administrative direct report responsibilities for TMs’s

 

KEY RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES (WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE)

1. Have a solid understanding of the influential scenes that impact the local market and maintain strong relationships with key people and organizations within them

2. Integrate Red Bull into these communities in credible ways via, support of relationships, events and programs that drive word of mouth and brand image

3. Deliver the execution of impactful relationships and marketing programs that resonate and entrench Red Bull’s brand values with key targeted consumers

4. Effective management of the TMs and the sampling program

5. Creative development and execution of new programs and events that keep Red Bull relevant and aspirational to key targeted consumers

6. Effectively support and cooperate with the sales team in integrated marketing efforts that drive consumer offtake

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Minimum 4 years grassroots marketing experience and 1-2 years management experience

2. University – Bachelor’s Degree preferred

3. Travels - Within market area as needed and out of market travel = 10%-15% of time

4. Strong understanding of youth culture in sports & culture

5. Exceptional communication skills, including presenting and training abilities

6. Strong planning and project management competencies

7. Ability to cultivate team environment

8. Creative mind

9. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Database Management software a plus
