Reporting to the Supervisor of Field Applications Scientists, this position will provide quality, timely scientific support to current and prospective Sequenom customers, service engineers, sales representatives, and distributors worldwide. Support can include phone, email, training, conferences, product testing, pre-sale feasibility studies and laboratory work for current customers.

 

In this position, you will:

Answer, evaluate and prioritize incoming phone, email and in-person requests from customers and coworkers experiencing problems with the MassARRAY platformTrain new and current customers on Sequenom’s proprietary applicationsHandle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow up for routine user problems as well as conducting preliminary laboratory related experimentation to support Product Development and Sales effortsParticipate in the creation and dissemination of technical information to coworkers and customers and have involvement in the product development life cycle and testing

The successful candidate will have:

BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or other relevant degree, MS or PhD, preferred4+ years related industry experienceHands-on experience with analytical instrumentationCustomer support experience requiredStrong Molecular Biology lab skills required 30 – 50 % travel requiredBioinformatics and IT experience a plusStrong lab skills and assay design expertise a plus
