Platform Architecture & Infrastructure
An organization's infrastructure should support its business strategy, and Deloitte Consulting's Platform Architecture & Infrastructure group (PAI) helps our clients manage this complex relationship in numerous ways. PAI provides networking, telecommunications and infrastructure solutions that enable our clients to achieve their business objectives. From mainframes to Wintel, our Architecture group helps plan, design and implement technical architectures and infrastructure. Likewise, our Network group provides networking and telecommunications services such as internetworking strategy, architecture, voice-over-internet-protocol (VoIP), sourcing, assessments, network design, implementations and operational support for our enterprise and service provider clients. Both groups also provide pre-packaged solutions in support of IT optimization, including consolidation, simplification sourcing or rationalization. PAI delivers internetworking assessments, strategies, architectures, designs, implementations and operations for our enterprise and service provider clients .


Deloitte's Architecture and Infrastructure Senior Consultants will be responsible for defining and delivering all or part of the technical architecture for client projects, integrating solutions from multiple platforms, and providing for secure, distributed solutions.

Senior Consultants must have:
-4+ years of relevant technology architecture industry or consulting experience
-2+ years of team lead experience
- Must have participated in one or more projects involving the design, development and testing of network architectures (build, run, operations, and security) that include integration of key software components such as web/application servers, middleware, RDBMS, development environments, operational components, and security products.

- Bachelor's Degree; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred

Ideal candidates will have consolidation experience in one of the following areas: - Server Consolidation (SUN, HP, Intel, Linux or Mainframe systems)
- Data/Data Center Consolidation (Oracle, DB2) - Storage Consolidation (EMC, HDS, SUN, HP, IBM) - Infrastructure Consolidation (Netegrity, LDAP)

Qualified Senior Consultant candidates will have experience in at least one of the following areas:

Technical Infrastructure:
Should have at least one full lifecycle project experience in or more of the following areas:
- Servers: RightSize, Infrastructure, Platform Sizing, Infrastructure Cost Reduction
- Storage: Network Storage Capacity Planning, Storage Area Network (SAN) Planning, Architecture and Design.
- Operating Systems and Software: Upgrade Planning and Implementation, Linux Opportunity, Wintel Virtualization Architecture and Design, Solaris 8 to 10 Upgrades, AIX 5.3 Virtualization, Clustering and Grid Computing, Linux-on-Mainframe
- Open Source: Creating Point of View documents, Sizing and Performance Analyses, -Selection and Implementation, Platform Design and Selection
- Databases: Performance Tuning, Clustering Design, High availability Architectures
Networking and Telecommunications:
- Should have at least one full lifecycle project experience in or more of the following areas:
- Voice and Data Networks: "AOS" -Cost Assessment, Optimization and (Carrier) Selection, Global WAN Architecture Planning and Business Case Development, VOIP Design and Implementation.
- Converged, Enterprise, Carrier Networks and Wireline Networking: MPLS WAN Conversion, Services Portfolio Design
- Wireless Networking, Network Technologies, Network Services: Wireless LAN Security Planning and Design, Network Backbone Optimization.
IT Operations:
Should have at least one full lifecycle project experience in or more of the following areas:
- Data Center: Disaster Recovery and BCP, Data Center Rationalization Strategy, Layer 1 Asset Planning and Management.
- Command Center and Control Room: Automated Provisioning and Reallocation Solution, Control Room and Virtualization Consolidation.
- ITIL/IT Operations Process Framework Service Delivery: Service Desk, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, Release Management., Capacity Management, Performance Management, Financial Management
