Our innovations have led to Emmy® Awards and hundreds of filings for US patents as we introduce new must-have technologies into the TV viewing experience.    We make a commitment to challenge, inspire and reward the people who make the DIRECTV vision come to life -  Come join our winning team! DIRECTV is seeking a Facilities Technician to join the New Hampshire Uplink Faciities and Operations team. The Facilities Technician will have operational responsibility for all electrical, mechanical, life safety and computer monitoring systems at the Northeast Uplink Facility located in New Hampton, New Hampshire and the Northeast Diverse Uplink Facility located in Littleton, New Hampshire.   The Facilities Technician will be responsible for the following:Performing and managing contractors in the  maintenance, repair and general upkeep of all of these systems as well as structures, roads, parking lots and grounds at the New Hampshire Uplink and Diverse Facilities. Participation in department document maintenance, record keeping, preparation for periodic inspections, in-house construction projects, development of departmental procedures and support of Asset Management in the warehousing and control of material and equipment being maintained at the New Hampton sites. Perform shipping & receiving (follow current DIRECTV practices and procedures as setup by the Asset Management). Shipping & Receiving — Prep equipment for shipment & labeling and re-stocking into proper location in warehouse and spares location as needed. Database entry and Inventory verification. Relocation of equipment. Assist as needed with the dismantling of decommissioned equipment, recording equipment specific and processing /shipping /storing equipment.  Other responsibilities as needed. Successful candidate must possess a high school diploma, advanced technical education is preferred.   Position requires 8 years hands-on facilities experience in building operations. Technical education will be considered in lieu of direct experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to professionally interact with vendors, employees and all levels of management required. Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Windows and Office applications required. Problem solving ability and the use of sound judgment required. Self motivation, accountability and a willingness to do what it takes to get a job done required. Availability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays required. Availability for occasional domestic travel and commuting between sites weekly or as required by emergency events required. Ability to work both indoors and out, in potentially adverse weather conditions required. Must be able to safely crawl, climb and lift at least 50 pounds. Must possess sound industrial maintenance, troubleshooting and repair practice. Must demonstrate operational understanding of the following systems and equipment: electrical distribution, power generation, refrigeration, HVAC distribution, pumping, life safety detection & suppression, and building/equipment control.Must be able to safely and proficiently operate industry tools and power equipment Must be familiar with building automation systems and there use in the control and monitoring of facilities systems and equipment.
