If you have the desire to part of a dynamic and growing team, and the determination to seek the best solution for client needs, review the job description below and submit your resume today. ResponsibilitiesThe Project Design Engineer will work with project managers and CAD resources to prepare construction drawings and bid specifications to be used in the procurement and installation of telecommunications infrastructure. The Project Design Engineer will be responsible for translating client and project requirements from the project manager into construction documents for implementation by professional telecommunications contractors for various technology projects. Major Areas of Accountability: Responsibilities include participation in the client requirements definition process, development of construction drawings and contract documents from schematic design through construction documents, bid process evaluations, submittal review, field inspections and construction administration to ensure that design requirements are met for all areas above.Ability to manage CAD resources in the development of construction documents. Ability to participate in multiple design teams and projects in a given periodPrepare construction drawings and specifications to be used in the procurement and installation of telecommunications infrastructureInterface with architects, engineers and construction trade contractors for design coordinationReview and approval of shop drawings and submittals Field coordination of cabling installation workReview and analysis of cable test resultsAssist, prepare and maintain BRCo specification templates and documentsAssist and enforce BRCo project methodologyConduct and enforce QA audits and standards of construction documents and deliverablesAssist, maintain and enforce BRCo design, methodology and CAD standardsResearch and maintain manufacturer product offerings, manuals, literature, BICSI/EIA/TIA standards, etc.  Primary SkillsUnderstanding of telecommunications cabling design and implementation for data centers, telecommunication rooms, Network POP, and copper and fiber cable plant design in support of voice and data systemsPreparation of cabling design drawing packages and contract document preparation – AutoCAD 2008 drawings and CSI Master Format specificationsFamiliarity with industry standards including BICSI, IEEE and TIA/EIAFamiliarity with design and construction lifecycles and construction documentationExcellent verbal and written skillsProficiency in AutoCAD (version 2008), MS Word and MS ExcelRCDD certification preferredAbility for travel up to 15%Preferred Secondary Skills (not required)Design of physical security systems (access control, CCTV)Design of audiovisual systems (speaker systems, projection technology, and control systems)Design of voice communications systems (PBX, Voice-over-IP, Call Centers, ACD, paging, etc.)Thomson Reuters employees take pride in providing our customers around the world with information that is timely, accurate, unbiased and trusted.
