Chugach Industries, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chugach Alaska Corporation, has a long-term facilities management contract at the Picatinny Arsenal in Morris County, NJ. We currently have over 200 full time employees and we are responsible for managing Public Works, Logistics, IT, Safety and Health and Environmental Services.
Summary/General Description of Job:
Reporting to the overall Project Manager, the Facilities O&M Manager is responsible for managing all Operations and Maintenance (O&M) functions and for the effective management and direction of assigned employees, tools, equipment and other resources in the accomplishment of contract requirements.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
· Provides strategic leadership to include development of annual work and long range plans for construction and maintenance operations.
· Provides overall supervision of craft shops, planning and estimating, work management and engineering.
· Accomplishes work in accordance with authorized Corrective Maintenance (CM) Work Orders, Preventive Maintenance, and Standing Operating Orders. Complies with work schedules and contract requirements for response and performance. Provides Work Order feedback in accordance with established procedures.
· Develops and maintains all work related statistics and produces reports on a timely basis.
· Ensures all work is accomplished in most effective and efficient manner. Interfaces with other functions, customers and Government representatives as required to achieve maximum productivity.
· Monitors work to ensure cost control (including minimization of overtime/lost time), effective use of tools, equipment, and materials, scope (including the documentation of changes to support job amendments), and the quality of work performed.
· Develops plans to improve procedures, methods, technology, tools and equipment, and human resources to achieve improved productivity, quality and cost performance.
· Recommends changes to operations and maintenance (O&M) procedures to deficiencies.
· Controls tools, equipment, materials and vehicles to ensure inventory control, effective utilization, safe and proper operation, cleanliness, and cost effectiveness.
· Directs snow removal operations
Job Requirements (Education, Skills & Experience):
Mandatory
· US Citizenship
· Ten years direct experience in facilities Operations and Maintenance management.
· Must have demonstrated ability to effectively supervise multiple crafts, operational utility systems and assigned resources (equipment, material and personnel).
· Strategic planning experience as it relates to facilities O&M.
· Must possess good communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
· Computer skills including MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
· Must have a High School Diploma, college graduate preferred.
· Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
· Subject to background check.
Preferred:
· Bachelors Degree in related field.
· Government or military Public Works management experience.
