Job Description
SUMMARY :Assures the optimal functioning of building systems at all SDHS facilities including mechanical and fire/life safety. Responsible for facility department management and effective facility operations. Responsible for maintenance and hands-on repairs as well as providing supervision to the maintenance staff and oversight of outside contractors as directed
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Overall responsibility for facilities management including furniture, fixtures, and equipment at all locations, through hands-on work as well as supervision of staff and contractors who provide services. Maintain an effective work order process to schedule repairs in a responsible and timely manner. As well as solicit, evaluate and oversee all facility related contracts as directed by the VP of Support Services. Develop and manage the yearly budget for areas of responsibility. Monitor income and expenditures for areas of responsibility. Negotiate, manage and monitor contracts as requested. Generate purchase required documents and payable activities within the departments of responsibility with the VP of Support Services approval. Make recommendations to the VP of Support Services for requests for expenditures, exchanges and refunds.Provide project management activities as needed. Oversee and manage the vehicle fleet, coordinating with vendor on repair and maintenance. Write organization vehicle fleet policy and assist VP of Support Services with implementation.
Job Requirements
The qualified candidate must have Five+ year’s maintenance experience required. Three years of managerial experience preferred. Project and Facilities management experience strongly preferred. Computer literacy required. Familiarity with budget planning preferred. Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills required. Valid CA Driver’s license required as well as a satisfactory background checks.
