The Export Compliance Manager (EC Manager) will be responsible for the expansion/implementation of and adherence to PEP’s Export Compliance Program (ECP).  The PEP ECP ensures compliance to U.S. Export Laws and Regulations and PEP’s corporate export–import policies and procedures. The EC Manager works with all PEP facilities on U.S. export control matters and reports to the San Diego plant manager and the Pentair, Inc. Legal Department (Associate General Counsel) to ensure division-wide U.S. export controls compliance.

Responsibilities:

·         Develop, implement, and manage Export Compliance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Manuals per DDTC Compliance Program Guidelines for all PEP facilities.

·         Work across all functional positions of the PEP business division (HR, sales, engineering, customer service, manufacturing, supply, shipping, etc.) and with Pentair, Inc. legal and compliance team members to ensure compliance with U.S. Export Controls.  Includes: Party/Destination/End-Use Screening, Product Classifications (ECCN, USML) and Commerce or DDTC License Applications/Compliance, Interfacing with HR, IT, and Plant Management regarding access to controlled technology, Outside Sourcing, Record-Keeping, and Marketing materials.

·         Deliver training to PEP employees to ensure compliance and stay current on U.S. Export Controls developments and changes.

·         Work in conjunction with Pentair Internal Audit and Pentair Import-Export Compliance Manager to perform Export Auditing of PEP facilities and export operations.  Implement any necessary compliance improvement plans.

Requirements:

·         3 - 5 years experience in U.S. Export Controls (import-export compliance team, import-export global operations, and/or international supply chain logistics)

·         Strong and current knowledge of international trade compliance regulations applicable to PEP business (including EAR, ITAR, OFAC).  Experience with export license applications and import/export documentation.

·         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; advanced degree/courses preferred

·         Demonstrated project management, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to work well with all levels of the organization, customers, vendors & international parties.

·         Detailed-oriented, proactive, organized, self-starter.

·         Ability to perform in a rapidly changing team environment.

·         Must be a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.151
