We seek an experienced, highly professional Regional Sales Manager for our Alaska Region.

Duties:

•       Manage an outside sales team of approximately 40 salespeople, including one District Manager and 4-5 Book Managers.

•       Work in the field Monday thru Friday – mandatory

•       Provide leadership training to District Manager and Book Managers

•       Provide sales training to entire team on both an individual basis and in group settings

•       Work with sales reps who desire to move into management and conduct face to face interviews, along with the District Manager, with sales reps who desire to be promoted to Book Manager

•       Assist with interviews of potential salespeople when needed

•       Travel to Corporate headquarters once per month, for up to four days, to stay current on production processes, organizational structures, motivational plans, publishing schedules, etc.

•       Work closely with the Director of Sales to determine where and when the sales teams will work particular books, and work with the District Manager to help the teams produce complete and accurate books by the established deadlines

•       Track weekly sales revenue numbers for the region and report them to the Director of Sales

•       Conduct performance evaluations, with District Manager, on Book Managers at 90 days and six months

•       With the Director, set the revenue goals for each book and implement them through the District Manager

•       Work with Chambers of Commerce and authorize appropriate Chamber of Commerce memberships to be paid

•       Assist the Director of Production with the delivery verification process for each book in the region

•       Make recommendations for improvements to books in the region

•       Work with Director of Sales to determine geographic areas for new directories in the region

 

Qualifications:

 

•       A minimum of 10 years in sales management with at least 5 years in outside B2B sales management

•       Experience managing sales teams of 30-50 reps or more

•       Documented success in both personal revenue and team revenue generation at or above quota

•       Willingness to travel up to 90%

•       Previous yellow page sales experience preferred but not required
