Kroll Inc.   Primary Responsibilities/Job Summary: Kroll Government Services is currently seeking Contract Investigators in New York.  Applicants must reside within 50 miles of Queens, NY.    Investigators will conduct background investigations in support of National Security, specifically focusing on case work for three federal agencies; Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  Primary duties include, but are not limited to, conducting background investigations for the purpose of employment suitability of persons who require access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.  Investigators will conduct face-to-face interviews with the subject, his/her neighbors, coworkers, friends and family.  Investigators will also perform record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational/financial institutions and medical/mental health facilities.  Finally, investigators will report all information obtained in a clear and concise report.  Minimum Requirements: Please note you will not be considered if you do not already have CBP/ICE credentials. Candidates must have 3- 5 years of professional investigative experience working in a federal, state or local law enforcement capacity.  Candidates must possess current CBP and/or ICE credentials and have recent experience working CBP and/or ICE cases.  A Top Secret or Secret clearance with an SSBI is preferred.  Intermediate typing and computer skills, and U.S. citizenship are required.  Must have the ability to effectively manage time with limited supervision, and must be able to commit at least 20 hours per week to work with Kroll.  Due to the nature of this position, a valid driver's license and transportation are required.  Must have excellent writing and communication skills and have the ability to professionally interact effectively with various types of individuals.
