Description

The Cornell Program in Real Estate seeks a senior lecturer who will bring a practitioner perspective to the classroom, take an active role in student development, engage in cross-curricular activities, as well as industry/employer relations and alumni relations, and represent the Program in the Director's absence. The Senior Lecturer in Real Estate will have shared teaching and service responsibilities. The position will teach 1-2 courses each semester in areas based on the faculty members strengths and interests. The position will also advise students, direct and advise student activities such as case competitions, independent projects, etc., advise students on a range of career issues, and assist with programming to meet the specialized needs of students in the Real Estate Program. The Program in Real Estate is an interdisciplinary program at Cornell that offers a two-year master's degree. The Program is comprised of 17 real estate field faculty dispersed among 7 colleges on the Cornell Campus and has an enrollment of approximately 40 students.

Combination of an advanced degree and extensive, senior-level real estate industry experience, preferably in a leadership position in a real estate company, including commercial or residential development companies. Ability to provide a dynamic classroom and field experience as well as challenge students; commitment to making an enduring contribution to students, the Program, and the real estate industry in general through quality, committed teaching and service. Ability to interact within a relatively small academic program and assume responsibilities as demanded, including managing multiple tasks successfully. Preferred: Master's degree in business (MBA) and real estate; 20 + years experience in real estate development, finance, investment, or marketing.
