Executive Director, Catalog Marketing                                                    

 

We are looking for people who love a challenge and want to get in on the ground floor of an amazing new venture – the founding of a new WPP company that has partnered with Dell Computers. Play a role in the creation of a global entity while working in exciting Austin, Texas. We are currently looking for an Executive Director of Catalog Marketing to oversee the catalog team for our Dell account. This individual will be responsible for leading our catalog teams in best practices and helping maximize sales and profitability of Dell’s catalog channel, domestically and internationally.  This role is primarily strategic and consultative. The ideal candidate must have the ability to apply best practices in multichannel catalog marketing and interface with the client at an executive level. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

§        Develops global and local strategies to maximize sales and profitability of traditional and digital catalogs for both consumer and business to business catalog efforts

§        Identifies opportunities required to right size catalog investment in a multichannel sales environment: phone, web and retail

§        Works in a tightly integrated leadership team to manage the execution of catalogs, including merchandising, creative, scheduling, circulation, production

§        Develops and leads an integrated global catalog “center of excellence” on behalf of client

§        Refines reporting, tracking, and impact of catalog campaigns on other marketing channels

§        Plays a lead relationship role with client and interfaces on priority catalog changes

§        Develops budgets and manages catalog teams to meet budget targets for all projects

§        Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and evaluation of catalog staff

§        Leads and takes accountability for catalog workflow and production

§        Additional duties may be assigned

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

 

·        15+ years catalog marketing, ideally selling both business and consumer goods

·        Demonstrated experience both digital and traditional catalogs

·        Experienced in a hybrid distribution environment: direct (phone and web), traditional retail, business partners

·        International experience not mandatory, but preferred

·        Proven leadership skills and a consultative approach

·        Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

·        Agency background a plus

·        Strong organizational skills able comfortable in working with virtual teams

·        Flexible and adaptive to changing client priorities

·        Travel up to 25%
