Environmental, Health & Safety Engineer

This position will be responsible for the remediation of existing environmental threats, and development of new solutions to prevent and control future environmental health hazards,

The candidate should have a minimum of three years experience in a hands-on leadership role in environmental processes and controls and industrial health and safety, including a comprehensive understanding and application of, and State environmental regulations (i.e., working knowledge of federal EPA laws and regulations, including, Clean Air Act Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Reclamation Act, Toxic Substances Control Act and related regulations, as well as fundamental understanding of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Key responsibilities will include: Developing and publishing safety and environmental programs consistent with regulations and company policy; Performing job hazard analysis to identify loss potential of our systems and processes; Reviewing and revising location standards, policies and practices as necessary to assure they are current and in concert with regulatory and / or company requirements; Developing, reviewing and interpreting loss data to discover causative agents and recommending appropriate corrective actions; Training employees, supervisors and management in the areas of general safety and environmental awareness, specific program requirements and specific job requirements; and, Maintaining required records, preparing reports and files as necessary to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or equivalent degree; good interpersonal skills ; ability to work with people at all levels; strong verbal, written, and analytical skills; ability to excel in a self-directed environment. Candidates must have strong computer and experience literacy and application capability (MS Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project Manager).
