General Summary:

Responsible for compliance regarding Title V Air Permit, Solid/Hazardous Waste, SPCC Plan, Storm Water Management, and Wastewater regulations for two facilities in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with 800 employees.  Manage the health and safety programs to ensure employee safety, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices to support the manufacturing operations. Develop, coordinate and implement EHS compliance systems for continued compliance with regulatory requirements.  Will complete and submit environmental reports for two facilities.  Manages contract security and nursing staffs.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Work with Divisions to obtain and maintain environmental permits

·         Complete and submit regulatory reports for two facilities

·         Direct audits of facilities for compliance with regulations

·         Safety Program Management for a Foundry, Machine Shop, Warehouse & Heat Treat Facility

·         Conduct Employee Training

·         Provide regulatory interpretations for division

·         Project Management of EHS Initiatives

·         Provide design and implementation of complex pollution prevention systems

·         Represent company in discussions with governmental agencies and trade organizations regarding EHS matters

·         Assist divisions with sampling and monitoring

·         Works with Divisional EHS Personnel located across the USA

·         Manages contract security and nursing staffs

 

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements for Position:

·         Knowledge of environmental regulations required.

·         Experience managing Health & Safety Programs

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to deal effectively with diverse groups of people and to conduct effective training.

·         Analytical ability to effectively troubleshoot and solve problems.

·         Must be able to work independently and carry tasks/projects through to completion while meeting established deadlines.

·         Ability to work with spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

·         Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, or Engineering

·         5-10 years related experience

·         MBA or Professional registration preferred (CSP, PE, CHMM, or equivalent)

 

Reporting Structure:

·         Position reports to the Divisional Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety
