Flint Hills Resources is a Wichita, Kansas-based refining and chemicals company that is wholly owned by Koch Industries. The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for supporting compliance with any of the following Environmental programs for FHR refined fuels terminal facilities in Wisconsin and Iowa.

Air Permit Compliance, including annual emissions inventories, NSPS compliance, and managing permitting for new / modified sources Compliance with state-specific above ground storage tank regulations Waste Management Compliance, including coordinating hazardous waste management activities, waste analysis and profiling, coordinating disposal, annual reports and waste minimization activities Stormwater and Wastewater compliance, including managing permitted discharges, coordinating sampling and analysis, submittal of DMRs, and continuous improvement of facility SWPPP documents EPCRA / CERCLA Compliance, including management of new chemical reporting, annual Tier Two Reporting and annual Toxic Chemical Release ((TRI Form R) reporting Emergency Response Compliance, including managing / updating plans in compliance Federal SPCC, FRP, RCRA and RMP rules, participating in emergency response drills, and 24 hour on-call availability for significant incidents

Additional responsibilities include:

Pro-actively develop trusting relationships with regulatory agencies as appropriate Perform self-assessment audits to verify compliance and system effectiveness Participate in environmental reviews as part of the Management of Change process Participate in development and implementation of an effective environmental training program Preparing or overseeing preparation of all required agency reports and certifications and ensure they are completed accurately and timely Must be able to travel ~25-35%

Strong attention to detail and excellent communication, analytical, customer service, and organizational skills. Strong presentation and training ability. 1+ years experience dealing with multimedia environmental compliance matters BS in Environmental Sciences, Chemical or Civil Engineering, or related disciplines OR equivalent relevant work experience
