CH2M HILL's Charlotte, NC office is growing and we are currently looking for an Environmental Engineer with 6+ years of experience to join our Environmental Services Group. The Engineer will be responsible for assisting or leading environmental cleanup projects for private and government clients.
Key Duties:
Responsible for managing large, complex tasks and small projects. Provide support to industrial and federal clients to meet project goals and objectives. Projects include planning, implementation, and reporting for field investigations; feasibility studies; decision documents; and remedial actions. These projects include data evaluation, report writing, and remedial system design, as necessary. Assist in the preparation of technical reports to clients, state agencies or other stakeholders. Provide support to or serve as the Project Engineer on various remedial projects. Participate and support safety “incident free” operations in the office and in the field; conduct field work using H&S tools and meet H&S requirements. Oversee subcontractors in the field or in the office. Interact with the client, staff, and regulatory agencies. Complete tasks within schedule and budget. Provide routine communication, both written and verbal, to appropriate staff on the status of project tasks. Obtain and/or maintain professional certification as appropriate, and participate in development of professional publications and conference papers. Provide support in writing proposals and other business development activities. QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
BS degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum of 6 years experience in environmental consulting.
General project management/project delivery experience for site management/site remediation, compliance or waste projects.
Knowledge and experience with various media (soil, groundwater, surface water) investigations, assessments and remediation technologies.
Preferred qualifications:
MS degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
6-9 years of environmental consulting experience.
P.E.
Good client/change management skills.
40-Hour HAZWOPER training.
