JobEnvironmental analyst to work with senior managers to assist with environmental planning projects, expand existing and new client relationships, and contribute to AMEC’s capacity in the environmental and engineering marketplace.

AccountabilitiesThe successful candidate will report to a Senior Program Manager and work directly with project managers throughout the Pacific Coast Environmental (PCE) Business Unit. Primary responsibilities will include preparing analyses of environmental issues in the context of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance, Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404 permitting, etc.
Opportunities and ProjectsAMEC's PCE Unit is a rapidly expanding California business operation with a focus on environmental planning, natural resources, and cultural resources. The analysts hired as a result of this announcement will have the opportunity to take on significant work tasks on a variety of environmental projects. Deputy Project Manager positions are available for mid-level candidates. Current projects include major port development, offshore/coastal oil and gas and fiber optics cable installations, Department of Defense military installation infrastructure development and mission changes, and municipal government downtown mixed use and commercial developments. The PCE Unit has a geographic project backlog in not only California, Arizona, and Nevada, but projects also range throughout the US, including major assignments now in Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The unit's growth and broad range of project opportunities will provide a diverse wealth of interesting project experience for new analysts.
KnowledgeBachelor’s or Master’s decree in Environmental Science, Land Use Planning, Natural Resources Management or related field.
4- to 8-years (mid-level) experience in authoring resource descriptions, impacts analyses, etc.
Project management experience is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English).
Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills.
Working knowledge of environmental / engineering principles and standards.
Familiarity with NEPA and CEQA required.
Proficiency with MS Office: Excel and Word, in particular.
