Currently, we have several great opportunities in Ohio for a hands-on self starter to perform routine and preventative maintenance on all facility machinery and equipment, including HVAC, de-ionized and reverse osmosis (RO/DI) water treatment systems, emergency generators, vacuum systems, and compressed air and laboratory gas systems. You will also respond to alarms and/or pages from the environmental monitoring system 24/7, alternating on-call responsibility with other Engineering Department personnel; perform preventive maintenance on equipment, laboratory instruments, building mechanical systems and water quality systems; maintain equipment & certification records; assist with the registration of various permits; monitor building environment through the use of environmental monitoring and building control systems; maintain a current, valid driver’s license; and comply with the SOPs, practices, and safety rules as well as appropriate industry and regulatory guidelines, rules, and regulations.

This position requires:

• An HS diploma or GED and 3+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficient mechanical skills using appropriate hand and power tools, as well as experience using a wide variety of diagnostic tools used to test, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment
• Experience managing building fire systems and building & environmental control systems, such as HVAC, plumbing and lighting
• Experience with HVAC equipment, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, humidifiers and air dryers
• A solid understanding of the management of water systems such as de-ionized and reverse osmosis systems as well as low voltage electrical systems, such as controls, security and sensors in environmental monitoring systems
• General knowledge of both the maintenance and operation of various hydraulic, pneumatic, facility electrical systems and facility emergency diesel generators
• Familiarity with laboratory and office machinery and equipment, such as laboratory gas manifold systems, ultra low freezers and incubators and compressed air and vacuum systems
• A thorough understanding of test, balance, and commissioning requirements of both new and existing systems as they relate to GMP facilities
• Must be able to understand the requirements of and function fully in a clean room environment
• Experience with remote water purifiers is desirable.
• Associate of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
