Physics Technician / R&D

 

American Bank Note Holographics (ABNH), a JDSU company, seeks a highly motivated Physics Technician for their Robbinsville, NJ office.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a world leader in security holograms used to authenticate valuable documents and products.

 

The Physics Technician will report to the Manager of R&D, have knowledge and experience of general physics, electronics and materials science and will conduct material research, magnetic systems, analysis and testing for development and production of holographic products.

 

Responsibilities:

§          Set up and conduct experiments, design and build testing apparatus, work with magnetic and holographic systems, samples and physical specimens

§          Assist in the interpretation of tests and analyses. Compile and provide complete, accurate and timely reports of test data and results analysis.

§          Perform quality control and quality assurance testing as required to assist in production and compliance resolution.

§          Maintain all laboratory testing equipment and laboratory material inventories required to complete assigned projects.

§          Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment for accuracy and efficiency.

§          Maintain a clean and orderly lab area and work environment.

§          Work with QA and Manufacturing in problem solving of existing products as well as introduction of new products to production

§          Work with Physicist, Chemist and other lab technicians on projects and project management

 

 

Required Qualifications

§          Minimum 3-5 years industrial physics and laboratory experience

§          Minimum of a BS degree in Physics, Materials Science or equivalent

§          Familiarity with analytical tools, computer and statistical analysis and testing techniques required

 

Desired Qualifications:

§          Experience with thin films, aluminized foil, magnetic materials and oxide coatings.

§          Knowledge of magnetics, holographic process and hologram production.
