POSITION SUMMARY:
Gambro BCT is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Equipment Maintenance Technician. This position works independently supporting troubleshooting and improvement activities of complex, automated manufacturing equipment. Must be comfortable using PLC indication and ladder logic to restore production status. Will provide support to process validation activities and may assist on the design and development of new equipment or processes. Maintains a high level of knowledge of the manufacturing processes and equipment to provide support to all needs in all areas. Requires strong time management skills to effectively manage project work with unscheduled maintenance needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently troubleshoots complex equipment with a high degree of quality and reliability.
Supports process optimization through equipment design improvements, changes to operating procedures and maintenance activities.
May be required to coordinate work activities of others, including outside contractors, while leading projects.
Supporting performance enhancements when identified by self or others including but not limited to: scrap reduction, downtime reduction and process customization.
Provides technical guidance to less experienced technicians.
Safety conscious, complying with all rules, policies and procedures.
Complies with all procedures and requirements regulated by the medical device industry.
Continues education to keep up with the latest technology regarding machine design and control software.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires practical and comprehensive knowledge typically gained through 10 plus years of experience and a formal technical degree in electronics, automation systems or related field. Substitution of degree with relevant experience is evaluated on a case-by-case basis to the specific electronic and mechanical skills required in the work area.
Must have good understanding of industrial programmable logic controllers with ability to interpret PLC indication to troubleshoot systems. Going online to troubleshoot is preferred.
Demonstrated excellent troubleshooting and project management skills.
Requires advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
Ability to work under pressure and respond with a sense of urgency.
Ability to work effectively and professionally within a team environment.
