We are seeking an experienced aerospace / rocket propulsion systems valve engineer.

In this role you will;


Provide technical expertise and leadership for development and successful procurement of valve products. Valve products include a broad range of liquid propellant (both cryo- and storable) rocket propulsion fluid control components and may include actuators and electronic controls. This position reports to the Director of Engineering, Valves.

Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, system designers, and component engineers in making effective valve selection choices, specifying valve products, design expertise, and leading failure investigations.

Provide technical oversight of supplier activities to ensure that sound design, development, and producibility practices are followed.

Performs a leadership role in training plan development and implementation, discretionary and strategic plan preparation for valve components, and proposal development.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and at least 9 years of experience in the design and development of high performance, lightweight fluid control devices suited to aerospace applications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires strong technical knowledge in multiple valve disciplines. A comprehensive knowledge of rocket propulsion systems and associated valve functional requirements is required.

Experience with and knowledge of the supplier base capabilities and specialties is a requirement for this position.

This position requires demonstrated leadership experience, a track record of creative problem solving and a focus on achievement of goals and objectives.

Candidates should have experience in machine design elements and rocket engine cryogenic and storable propellants.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
