Responsible for independently providing expert technical support, direction and advice in analyzing, evaluating, managing data for and maintaining records and programs; independently identifies and resolves moderately complex problems working cross functionally within the organization and with external stakeholders; develops and recommends procedures and methods, and prepares technical reports and documentation; performs technical evaluations of events to determine root cause, recommends corrective action, and provides installation proposals. Provides technical expertise and guidance to others in the identification and resolution of moderately complex problems and may serve as a project leader for a technical program. Focus on transmission circuits and system interconnections, development of standards and specifications and management of material systems, maintenance and technical supervision of design software systems, and maintenance and development of asset data systems and processes.

• Prepare budgets; maintain records of project costs and accounting for cash flow and accrual.
• Support the ATC Survey Coordinator as a technical expert in communication of design survey requirements and transmission line designs to construction staking
• Act as ATC subject matter expert and direct process and make decisions independently.
• Review work of others for adherence to ATC standards.
• Manage asset databases and processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
• Respond to requests from throughout ATC by providing value added solutions.
• Independently identify process and procedural problems and lead the resolution of such problems.
• Lead or participate on root cause analysis or project teams; providing knowledge, experience and insight; conducting surveys, interviews or data digging as required.
• Manage documentation on internal and external ATC websites. Continually organize and maintain project documentation including establishing and/or utilizing record repositories for ease of retrieval and utilization by others.
• Prepare transmission line design guides, standards, drawings, specifications, bulletins, maintenance procedures, other work procedures, operating procedures etc. as needed.
• Recognize detrimental activities and defend the requirements of the State Electrical Code to parties external to ATC regarding clearances related to encroachments.
• Prepare project requests (PRF) or estimates as requested.
• Coordinate with other functional groups in supporting Real Estate, Maintenance, Environmental and Portfolios (projects).
• Support system restoration activities as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:
• Associate's degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technology, computer aided design/drafting, Construction Technology, Surveying, etc. Equivalent, applicable work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Experience:
• Extensive energy services experience including specialized experience in solving complex problems.
• Ability to work independently and manage and direct complex processes and programs
• Ability to independently recognize problems and develop solutions working cross functionally within the organization and with external stake holders.
• Demonstrated knowledge or experience in articulating processes, obtaining relevant data or tracking work progress and billing
• At least one year of successful experience on transmission line design and a demonstrated understanding of the materials and components that composes a transmission system.
• Show an understanding of various surveying techniques and their use in transmission line design and asset management
• Proficiency in the use and maintenance of software common to transmission line, substation design, or asset data systems.
• Proven computer skills to include Microsoft windows, basic spreadsheet techniques, and word processing tools.
• Understanding of electronic document management and storage processes is preferred.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
