Our Sacramento California facility is seeking a Control Systems Engineering Specialist to perform control system engineering assignments requiring a broad understanding of controls engineering principles and a working knowledge of other related disciplines. Working with integrated product teams in a development/low rate production environment.
In this role you will define rocket propulsion control system architecture and objectives. Perform preliminary sizing analysis and transient/steady state analysis for rocket propulsion systems using system simulation software tools including Matlab/Simulink and custom software applications. Perform functional analysis and conduct system trade studies. Select concept baselines that optimize cost/benefit trades. Develops control system algorithms, and assess system fault tolerance, and health monitoring.
Develop rocket propulsion hardware and software requirements. Responsible for derivation of internal requirements, requirements allocation, and compliance management. Define verification plans using customer requirements and contract statement of work (SOW). Support propulsion systems development tests and verification testing through rocket propulsion system (solid and/or liquid propellant) test setup, conduct, and data reduction.
Develop software applications using several programming languages (Fortran, C+, VisualBasic, etc.) and other software that wrap analytical tools and optimize propulsion systems.
To qualify you must have:
- A Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree (preferred) in Electrical Engineering or appropriate controls related discipline/science
- Nine (9) years of directly related industry experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Requires coursework and experience in propulsion systems and linear/digital controls.
- Rocket propulsion industry technical experience preferred, especially with control systems.
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink desired.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.
