LOCATION

 

Position will be located in the Morrisville, North Carolina office of BE&K Engineering.  Morrisville is located just outside of Raleigh and is adjacent to the Research Triangle Park.  The area provides easy access to the shore and the Blue Ridge Mountains.  North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University are all close by.  If you enjoy golf you will love this location.  North Carolina is known for its’ many fine golf courses.  The Pinehurst – Southern Pines area is only a 90 minute drive from the office!

 

REPORTING

 

The position will report to the Project Controls Department Manager in the office.

 

OVERALL ROLE

 

Works with the engineering team to develop the design schedules and work hour budgets for projects being executed from the Morrisville office.  Projects are typically in heavy industries such as Pulp and Paper, Power, Chemical and Minerals.On projects where BE&K has both engineering, procurement and construction responsibilities, work with the construction groups and the project procurement manager to coordinate and integrate the schedules.Monitor and update schedules and budgets on assigned projects.Analyze both budget and schedule progress.  Help develop and implement alternate approaches to mitigate any negative budget or schedule trends.Prepare reports for both internal and external consumption.

 

KEY EXPERIENCE

 

This is a mid-level project assigned position. Lead scheduler on multiple engineering projects.  Individual must have a working knowledge of construction so that engineering schedules can be developed to support and be integrated into the overall project engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) schedule.  This position requires unassisted development and maintenance of schedules for engineering projects. Excellent communications and a self-starting, professionally aggressive attitude is a must. The position requires the application of a standard scheduling procedure and involves substantial evaluation, analysis and problem solving efforts. You will monitor projects in accordance to set schedules through use of analytical reports. Individuals must be adept in Primavera P3. Experience with Primavera 6.0 would be a plus.

 

Requires 5-7 years of engineering and / or construction scheduling/planning experience. Must have accelerated knowledge of scheduling systems and tools. Requires understanding of construction technology, process systems and structures as well as the sequence of events for the various disciplines of engineering and construction.

 

Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of scheduling experience for engineering only or EPC projects.  Experience in heavy, process driven industries is highly desirable.
