TransCore, a subsidiary of Roper Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a full-time Project Manager II to join our team in Miramar, FL (South Florida).

 

The Project Manager will manage TransCore’s contract for the maintenance of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 4 Intelligent Transportation System.  The selected Project Manager will work on-site at the customer’s facility and will be responsible for project coordination with the customer.    

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for supervising TransCore Technicians.Assigning maintenance work orders to Technicians.Ensuring successful completion of maintenance activities and associated reports/documentation.Responsible for managing and administering subcontract agreements, developing scopes and estimates for project tasks.Procuring necessary materials and equipment to complete regular and task specific maintenance activities. Submitting project invoices to the client.Managing project budgets.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

 

Previous experience in construction or maintenance management; technical background preferredAbility to manage a team of technical staffAbility to administer and manage a maintenance contractExperience directing meetings with customers and subsAbility to prepare invoices, cost estimates, schedules and project status reportsStrong documentation skillsAbility to write and develop technical documents such as scopes of work and test proceduresAbility to understand technical and construction related conceptsStrong verbal, written and interpersonal skillsSkilled in the use of Windows operating systemsAble to work as a team memberGood verbal, phone, and written communication skills

 

 

In addition to the above listed required skill, these skills are desired:

Technical knowledge of Ethernet communications, fiber optic cable, CCTV cameras, traffic detection devices and dynamic message signs.Knowledge and understanding of construction methods; hands-on construction experience; hands-on experience in maintaining technical systems.

 

Education:  BS Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering or commensurate with relevant experience in maintenance contract management.
