This position will have overall responsibility for the day to day operations of the Engineering and Tooling Departments. This is a working management position in a very fast paced and dynamic environment. The person who staffs this position should be well versed in the design and manufacture of metal stamping dies, CNC Mill and wire EDM programming. In addition to stamped parts, we also produce precision fabricated metal parts utilizing turret punches, lasers and press brakes. Experience in turret and laser programming along with knowledge of press brake tooling and operations is required. Experience is required in the creation of job routers that detail the manufacturing process. We use software called Global Shop for all job routings. We use an AutoCad design platform that utilizes software named Stryker to perform all tool designs. Our tooling methods are unique. We design and build both modular and progressive dies, with the predominate amount of tooling being modular tooling. We build 98% of our tooling in house with the remaining tooling being built by various contract manufacturers. This position will be responsible for assuring that the flow of work in both departments are in line with the needs of the Manufacturing Departments delivery requirements. This position reports to the General Manager with dotted line responsibility to the Manufacturing Manager.

 

The Engineering Department consists of one Process Engineer, Tool Designer/CNC Programmer and one Laser/Turret Programmer. The Process Engineer is responsible for the creation of all job routers, manufacturing prints, and in process inspection reports. The Process Engineer also handles all customer Engineering change notices and internal shop change notices. This position provides blank layouts for the turret and laser.

 

The Tool Designer/CNC Programmer develops the blank layouts for stamping dies, creates layouts/drawings of various tool components and creates programs for the wire EDM’s, Toolroom CNC Mill and production CNC machining.

 

The Laser/Turret Programmer provides CNC programs for the Laser and Turret punches.
