The Company

Our client, a leading durable goods manufacturer, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the product development effort.  This position is located nearby Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

 

The Opportunity

The Engineering Manager will serve as a key member of the management team and will be responsible for the design and development of new and existing products and processes.  This position reports to the Director of Operations and will oversee product development activities at two facilities.  Other responsibilities include:

·                     Assists sales and marketing in developing a strategic roadmap for new products.

·                     Work cross functionally to ensure customer-driven product improvements are properly addressed.

·                     Develop a robust Design for Manufacturability Process (DFMA) that will seek world-class results.

·                     Collaborate with internal supply management and key suppliers in the design efforts.

·                     Provide senior management presentations regarding product development projects in collaboration with the Product Management team.

·                     Investigate product failures and other customer complaints that may impact design criteria.

·                     Supervise design engineering activities at two locations.

·                     Provide and manage the department budget and spending.

 

Requirements

 

·                     BSME or related discipline.

·                     8 years in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory experience.

·                     Project management skills.

·                     Proven industry leader in product innovation.

·                     Ability to travel.
