WHAT DO WE DO? FIT (Fiber Inspection Test) Division produces industry-leading microscopes and cleaning systems for fiber optic interconnect systems. You would be joining a division that maintains a massive market share and drives the industry with innovative solutions to some of the most costly problems in telecommunications today. Utilize your strong optical engineering background and experience in system design not only to lead a team but also provide your expertise in hands on engineering design and technical guidance to your staff. Your technical savvy and leadership ability would be invaluable to refine and enrich the existing product roadmap to capitalize on our rapidly expanding sector. To continue our # 1 market position, the selected candidate will be enhancing the current products and developing the next generation to provide end to end customer solutions. From the management aspect, you will aggressively grow the product line revenue, improve the product line gross margin; and develop your staff. WHAT WILL YOU RECEIVE FROM JDSU? The larger JDSU company umbrella will provide benefits, bonus programs, and international exposure. Qualifications What qualifications should you have to be selected for this opportunity? " BSEE, BSCS and/or engineering related degree required Physics and Optical Engineering will be given preference. An advanced technical degree and MBA desirable. Degree or practical experience with optical engineering is highly prized. " Demonstrated experience developing and managing products and developing and implementing business strategies and operating plans desired. " Previous experience in optical system design, optical layout or lens design would be invaluable in this role. " Minimum of 7+ years of experience with hands on product development with a history of success in the communications industry. " Minimal of 2 years managing staff. " Experience in formulating and implementing business and customer partnerships. " Solid understanding of the communications networking industry and technologies is beneficial. " Leadership skills to create a vision, to motivate the organization, to focus on results, and to foster a great team or people. " Work location is Mill Creek, Washington. " Travel up to 15% for customer visits and off site meetings.
