We currently have an opportunity for a Engineering Customer Support/Implementation Specialist. This position is responsible for the coordination, configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of E&O Mapping applications at Member sites. Also responsible for providing application support to customers, answering questions on function and usage of product via the telephone, e-mail, or on-site primarily supporting NISC’s Utility customers in their use of NISC’s E&O Applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform project management responsibilities by implementing E&O software according to all NISC established project management guidelines, including application support and training. Resolves issues for customers who are using NISC products and recommends changes or enhancements as directed.Provides superior customer service to our customers in all encounters.May participate in demonstration of NISC’s E&O software applications to potential users.Promotes and maintains a high-quality, professional, service-oriented company image among users and prospects.Assists in identifying future business requirements related to E&O products and provides direction and insight on new development and existing application improvements.Prepares change requests for software engineering staff and follows-up to resolution.May develop and deliver training to co-workers or customers as assigned.Conveys customer feedback to management and product development staff as appropriate.Performs on-site training or delivers remote application training to Members via Web Tools.May be called upon to assist in other support areas.May be called upon to participate on design teams regarding enhancements to E&O products.May be required to travel to customer sites on occasion.Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the utility industry or other related industry as related to engineering and operations.Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level.Familiarity with project management processes and theory.Knowledge of GIS/CAD products and applications.Ability to organize and prioritize a large work volume.Strong PC skills.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to interact in a positive manner with internal and external contacts.Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.Strong presentation and training skills.Strong telephone etiquette and an ability to deal effectively with Customers.Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position.Education and Experience:
Four-year degree in professional field (engineering or information technology preferred) or comparable experience. Generally requires three to five years of experience in engineering and operations-related software systems and applications to include ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD or other mapping systems. Experience with electric distribution systems a plus.
