Description: Eaton Corporation's Hydraulic Systems Division of Eaton Aerospace, located in Jackson, Mississippi, has an opening for a Controls Analyst, Engineering.
This position will perform tasks in support of engineering analysis and design in areas of dynamic simulation and control system development. Also, this position will be responsible for assessing hydraulic pump/motor control system stability as well as digital control development and implementation.
Critical for success in this role is the ability to:
-Use EASY5 or MATLAB/SIMULINK to model hydraulic pumps/motors and assess dynamic performance. Utilize the dynamic model to direct design changes to achieve stability and desired performance where necessary.
-Perform analysis of pump pulsations and timing along with application and analysis of fluid borne noise and attenuation techniques.
-Develop and advance dynamic models of hydraulic pumps/motors, compensated valves, electrical drives, actuators, hydraulic lines, and other hydraulic system components.
-Support hydraulic system analysis team with component modeling and dynamic simulation tasks.
-Develop and Implement digital or analog control systems using Microprocessors, LABVIEW, Op-Amps, or other similar control devices. Be able to validate model using real test data to prove control system methodology and accuracy.
-Analyze test data in both the time and frequency domain. Suggest filter and sampling requirements where necessary
-Assist manufacturing floor with pump/motor control and stability related issues

601 Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required, Masters degree preferred.
2 years of industrial applications of dynamics and controls analysis/simulation experience or related experience.
Experience using nonlinear modeling and simulation techniques (using MATLAB/SIMULINK and/or EASY5) and be capable of assessing hydraulic component stability and performance.
Knowledge of design and implementation digital control systems in a laboratory environment.
Demonstration of strong computer and technical skills is a must along with professional presences including clear communication skills.
Experience in a design engineering or and aerospace environment is also a plus.
