Tax Engineering Consultant Ann Arbor MI We are looking for a Tax Engineering Consultant. This is a direct hire opportunity with a salary range between $65,000 to $85,000 and bonus. Our Client identifies project-oriented tax work designed to provide tax savings for their clients. Service offerings include: R&D tax credit studies, cost segregation studies, fixed asset reviews and domestic producer deduction studies. Cost segregation is the process of carving out shorter-lived assets from the overall cost of a newly constructed property, or from the acquisition or renovation cost of an existing facility, ultimately reducing tax obligations and improving client's cash flow. P&M's cost segregation team combines the expertise of engineers, lawyers and financial professionals to maximize client benefits from carefully applying the federal tax law. Typical Cost Segregation Studies consist of: ' On-site inspection of the property ' Examination of blueprints and architectural plans ' Personnel and contractor interviews ' Analysis of contractor invoices ' Development of a detailed cost estimate ' Preparation of a final cost segregation report Position Description: The Tax Engineering Consultant will add value to various tax related projects. Primary responsibilities in this consulting role will be to provide detailed cost analysis of commercial and industrial building projects ranging from $1 million to $100 million. This work will be done in collaboration with tax experts to maximize benefits to the client. This Consultant will have responsibility for client interface throughout engagements. Clients range across industry groups (retail, healthcare, food industry, manufacturing, etc.) and projects may include new construction, renovations and acquisitions. Position Requirements: ' Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent ' 5+ years of commercial and light industrial electrical estimating experience ' Budgetary estimating and green building estimating experience a plus ' Attention to detail with strong verbal and written communication skills ' Interest and ability to present findings to clients in a clear, professional manner ' Strong computer skills Benefits and Culture: This position offers a number of great benefits, including the choice of several different health care benefit plans and dental and vision coverage.
