Chevron Global Lubricants in Richmond, California is currently searching for an Engineer/Scientist-Product Technical Support to join our Lubricants Technical Support Team at the Richmond Technology Center. This position is responsible for providing product support for Marketing and Sales for all Chevron and Texaco branded diesel, passenger car, 2-cycle, natural gas, railroad, and inland marine engine oil lubricants in North America. Broadly, Product Support includes collaborating with the Marketing and Sales organizations to deliver physical and performance data and associated claims that support our market strategies, developing and conducting training programs for the Sales organization to improve sales effectiveness with select commercial-automotive and industrial target market segments, securing industry and OEM approvals, participating in product commercialization efforts, making OEM and customer presentations, addressing technical product questions, and investigating product complaints. Required Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Science; Master’s degree preferred. •Strong leadership and problem solving skills is required. •Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in the engine lubricants technology field who has OEM and Industry contacts and who is capable of working independently on multiple technical projects. •Excellent oral and written communications skills are critical for success. •The ability to work well with people from many cultures and disciplines - Marketing, Sales, OEMs, and end-use customers. •A moderate amount of North America business travel is required in this position. •This is a safety sensitive position with required work in laboratory, field, and manufacturing plant environments.
