POSITION – SR. POWER RECOVERY ENGINEER

·        One of the worlds largest privately owned engineering-construction firms with projects varying in size from $10M-$800M.

·        The firm has been providing a wide range of industrial clients with engineering, construction and maintenance services for almost 40 years.

·        Approximately 6,000 employees

·        Provides services for the following industries:

o       Pulp & paper

o       Petrochemical

o       Chemical

o       Power

o       General Manufacturing

 

LOCATION

 

Position will be in Birmingham, Alabama

 

REPORTING

 

Position reports to the Manager of Power Process Engineering

 

OVERALL ROLE

 

·        Function as the power process engineer on major capital projects in the power recovery market sectors.

·        Work with construction, design disciplines, and vendors to develop project from concept thru authorization.

·        Manage project scope, budget and perform studies which analyze, evaluate, and recommend solutions

·        Prepare equipment specs/evaluations, P&IDs, heat balances, equipment list, review & approve vendor drawings

·        Self-perform as a Project Engineer in addition to process work on small jobs

 

KEY EXPERIENCE

 

·        Requires at least 10 years of solid pulp & paper mill experience or equivalent experience working for an engineering firm.

·        Must have a minimum of 5yrs. In Power & Recovery Ops/Engineering; if Engineering firm, must have 10yrs. experience 

·        Successful candidate experience must include turbine generator feed water treatment and air pollution control equipment

 

KEY SKILLS

 

·        Self-starter with professionally aggressive attitude is a must

·        Solid leadership skills to inspire, motivate and manage a staff

·        Technically strong

·        Good oral and verbal presentation skills

·        Mentoring/coaching capabilities

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

 

·        Requires BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

·        Professional engineer (PE) license is highly desired or must be willing to sit for exam.
