POSITION # 1

 

Process Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing)

(Southeast Ohio/ Wheeling WV area)

Salary 85-100K

 

The Process Engineer will report administratively to the deployed Unit Technical Manager in direct support of several operating units at the Belpre plant. 

 

Primary Responsibilities within Process Engineering:

Capital Projects: Provide process design in support of capital projects including concept development & screening Function as Team leader on various projects for implementationNew Product Development: leadership and execution of new product test runs and/or process studies within the commercial production units participation in cross-functional new product commercialization teamsTechnical Support: Identify and execute a variety of process improvement activities,  RCA investigations, and participate in PHAs Assist production team resources by helping with short term production related problems or quality improvement efforts

 

Qualifications (required):

Four year BS degree or higher in chemical engineering 5+ years experience in process engineering or production engineering Possess a strong analytical and technical background with chemical unit operations, particularly heat transfer, distillation, fluid flow, and process control. Ability to frame up, prioritize and execute process improvements according to value, cost and risk with limited supervision Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of employees to plan, organize and complete multiple projects from inception to startup. Manufacturing experience in an OSHA 1910.119 PSM facility (large quantities of flammable or highly hazardous chemicals) with demonstrated excellent safe work behaviors Comfortable functioning in a variety of roles ranging from plant floor troubleshooting and problem solving to leading long term process improvement projects

 

Qualifications/experience (desired):

Polymerization knowledge and experience, especially if in a solvent based system Experience with chemical batch processing Project concept, premise, and economic justification development experience Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.  Green Belt or Black Belt certification would be advantageous.

 

 

 

POSITION # 2

 

Project Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing)

(Southeast Ohio/ Wheeling WV area)

Salary 85-100K

Summary

Manage all phases of capital projects up to $10MM at a large chemical facility.

 

Responsibilities

 

·    Manage capital projects of all sizes at a large chemical facility. Typical project size is k$ 250 to $1MM.

·    Support safety by adhering to all plant and department safety practices and programs. Perform field audits regularly to ensure safe project construction activities.

·    Write scope of work documents and hire contractors as needed for design & construction.

·    Prepare and present regular updates to project stakeholders regarding project status & progress.

·    Prepare various types of project cost estimates to support project goals.

·    Prepare project funding request packages (AFE) and ensure quality & accuracy of same.

·    Manage all phases of capital projects assigned. Must be able to apply stage gated project management procedure to given projects to ensure project success.

 

Background Requirements

 

 

 

·    Bachelor degree in engineering from accredited university.

·    At least 10 years direct experience in a chemical manufacturing plant with at least 5 years directly managing capital projects. At least two of those years must be managing project(s) individually valued > $2MM.

·    Thorough understanding of project management principles.

·    Must have experience selecting, preparing bid packages, and managing construction and engineering contractors.

·    Must have thorough working knowledge of all types of chemical plant technical documents such as P&IDs, PFDs, electrical schematics, piping drawings, and civil/structural drawings.

·    Must have working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) program as it applies to a chemical manufacturing plant. Experience must include at least 3 years working in such a plant.

·    Good written communication skills are a must. Must be able to write well organized and succinct project related documents such as monthly reports, funding requests, design reviews, and project justifications.

·    Must also have good verbal communication skills and be able to work with personnel at all levels in a challenging and flexible environment. Professional conduct is required in all circumstances.

·    Computer skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.

 

 

POSITION # 3

 

Electrical Engineer

 

The Electrical Engineer will report administratively to the Project Engineering Manager. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead and/or support electrical system retrofit projects.Technical support for maintenance and operations planning and trouble-shooting of electrical systems.Heat Trace system design and support.Development of Plant Electrical Engineering Standards and Policies.Lead electrical MOC (management of change) activities.Motor repair and electrical installation inspection.Preventative maintenance planning and scheduling.Specification of replacement electrical hardware up to 13.2 KVADevelopment of electrical system projects scope, cost estimates, and justification.Development of electrical system reliability improvement plans

 

Qualifications (required):

Four year degree in either Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology.3-7 years experience in electrical systems in the petrochemical industry Experience with upto13.2 KVA switch gear, Motor Control Centers,  and power distribution systemsKnowledge of NEC and area classification conceptsKnowledge of AC and DC motors and drivesKnowledge of Electrical Safe Work Practices NFPA 70EAbility to read motor control and power distribution electrical schematics Project management skills

Mechanical Integrity Engineer

(Chemical Manufacturing, Pressure Vessel experience)

BASIC PURPOSE

Responsible for the overall compliance aspects of OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management – Mechanical Integrity Program.

                                                    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1)     Administration and Responsibility for Site Mechanical Integrity Program.

2)     Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Company Mechanical Integrity related policies.

3)     Communicate the results of incident and equipment failure investigations.

4)     Give guidance on material selection for maintenance and capital replacements.

5)     Determine recommended replacement schedule to avoid end-of-life failure between turnarounds.

6)     Submit equipment replacement/upgrade items in capital or major maintenance budgets.

7)     Assist with development and Quality Control of critical weld procedures.

8)     Capability of doing manual code calculations for piping and pressure vessels.

9)     Complete a fit for service review for all critical equipment.

10)  Design and review use of leak repair devices such as clamps, wire wraps, cans.

11)  Review/Approve any deviations from plant specifications, codes, standards, best practices, etc. (Management of Change).

12)  Assist in guiding and developing critical equipment repair procedures.

13)  Develop inspection and repair plans/procedures for all critical equipment.

14)  Perform or approve pipe stress models and calculations (with or without pipe stress software).

15)  Supervising and directing mechanical/construction contractors and employees on maintenance and projects.

16)  Creating and maintaining Mechanical Integrity programs and procedures consistent with the NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards.

17)  Providing technical support and training to Inspection Group.

18)  Assist in RCFA on all mechanical failures.

19)  Responsibility for compliance with all mechanical codes, standards, regulations and industry best practices (ASME, API,ANSI, OSHA)

20)  Maintain relationship with State Boiler and Pressure vessel Inspectors

21)  Coordinating long term replacement (End of Life Planning) of fixed process assets (pipe, vessels, structural, etc)

·         Bachelor Degree from accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering

·         P.E. Required

·         7 years or more experience in Process Safety Management with emphasis in Mechanical Integrity program

·         Thorough understanding of ASME Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Piping Codes.

·         Knowledge of high temperature/pressure metallurgy.

·         Knowledge of corrosion resistant metallurgies.

·         Experience with plant design and project engineering a plus.

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and planning skills, facilitation skills, computer skills and the ability to achieve results through others.

·         Flexible, analytical and detailed oriented.

·         Knowledge of gas pipeline DOT integrity/inspection regulations a plus.

·         Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

·         Trained Process Hazard Analysis leader a plus

·         Willingness to work extended hours, particularly during scheduled outages

·         Willingness to participate on corporate teams and assist other locations (some travel required).

·         Willingness to participate in on call weekend and holiday coverage
