Engineer III - Operations Strategy for our
Pierce, FL location. This position is responsible for providing in-depth technical computer modeling, analysis and development of mining and concentrate operating alternatives and scenarios to maintain low-cost, high quality rock and concentrate outputs from all U.S. Phosphate Operations. This role will also provide technical analysis to support the day-to-day activities of mining and concentrate operations.
Principle Accountabilities: Analyze and evaluate mine and concentrate long-term strategy alternatives in the areas of reserves, mine life, tons, quality, permitting issues, reserve extensions, mining equipment, plant equipment, plant design, capital cost and operating costs. Analyze, evaluate and recommend cost and quality optimization strategies in the areas of mining, beneficiation, rock transportation, and chemical processing. Formulate cost analysis and potential cost savings. Participate in the evaluation of mining and concentrate projects, including domestic and international evaluations. Establish and effectively work with cross-functional teams to identify and assess operating information relevant to short- and long-term operating strategies. Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. This position is covered by Mosaic’s Employee Dispute Resolution program. Mosaic is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Education, Experience, Skills: Bachelor’s degree is required, major in Engineering - Chemical, Mining, Metallurgical Civil, or Mechanical is preferred. Minimum 5+ years phosphate industry experience working in an Engineering and/or Operations related role. Requires knowledge of mining, beneficiation and/or concentrate operations. Experience in budgeting or operational cost evaluation and computer modeling. Strong skill level in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Computer modeling experience. Knowledge of plant computer applications strongly preferred Requires excellent analytical skills. Ability to work in a team environment and interface with all levels of management. Strong interpersonal skills. Self motivated.
