Position Description:

Job Duties: Perform a leading role in the development of a new, high priority, state-of-the art, real-time data collection, storage, processing, and display system. Duties will span the entire development effort encompassing requirements identification and management, program scheduling inputs, architecture design, hardware selection, software/firmware design, coding, test, and systems integration. This position requires utilization of multiple technologies including: bus architectures (VME, PCI, etc.); data transmission systems (Fibre Channel, Ethernet, etc.) and associated protocols (TCP/IP, SCSI, etc.); general purpose processors (x86, 68K, PPC, etc.); digital signal processors (TI, Sharc, etc.); high-speed mass storage (tape, disk, JBOD, RAID); real-time graphics; and embedded real-time operating systems (VRTX, VxWorks, etc.). Software/firmware will be developed in C/C++ using an object-oriented analysis/design approach. Code development will be hosted on UNIX and/or NT workstations. Ability to perform in a team environment consisting of experienced engineers and seasoned software professionals is mandatory. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science with 8 years experience in the following disciplines: Firmware/software development with embedded microprocessor systems (68K, X86, PPC); realtime programming and device driver development with C/C++ and assembler; and multi-tasking operating systems (Unix, VxWorks). Must have experience with UNIX-based and/or NT multi-workstation software development environments and associated tools. Must have demonstrated familiarity with the use of in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers, LAN analyzers, serial protocol analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Position requires walking, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Must be able to qualify for and maintain a TS/SSBI security clearance. Desired Qualifications: Master's Degree with 12 years experience in the areas stated above. Digital control and data collection system design experience with a background in high-speed logic design. Digital signal processing (DSP) and/or Unix System Administration and/or Object Oriented Design (OOD) and/or Java programming skills. Working knowledge of radar principles and their associated digital subsystems. Familiarity with system engineering principles. Current TS/SSBI security clearance.
