P&G is creating a stand-alone, publically traded company called the Folgers Coffee Company. This business will have a split-off or spin-off transaction occur in our next fiscal year beginning in July 2008. The new company will be headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio and its manufacturing sites (Kansas City, New Orleans, and Sherman, TX) will remain intact.  The brands that will be included in this new company are: Folgers, Millstone, Brothers, Dunkin Donuts, Maryland Club/Butternut, Tender Leaf Tea, and Venetos. This entrepreneurial company is the market leader in the US and is poised to use its agility to build on that leadership.  This central engineering organization has the responsibility to develop new processes and machinery to support product and cost innovation, using a fully functional product research lab and the co-located technical & business community.  The individual in this role will have responsibilities that directly impact the success of the Folgers Coffee Company, and will have the opportunity to directly impact the direction of the business. If you are hired into this role, your employment will transition into the Folgers Coffee Company in July 2008. Important Responsibilities of the Job: Lead the development of breakthrough technologies in the core coffee making unit operations (roasting, grinding, blending, instant processing), in line with the category technology & product master plans. The master plans have been established to accelerate the development of technology solutions for projects on the 1 to 5 year business portfolio.  This requires collaboration with multiple functions (Marketing, Finance, R&D, Logistics, Manufacturing) at different phases of each project to integrate the relevant data into best value solutions. Create & execute technology development plans for targeted breakthroughs, including owning the budgets for the work. Develop scale-up criteria for relevant unit operations, coordinate testing at the product research lab and execute scale-up to national processes. The Qualifications of the Role Include:Proven technical mastery in process engineering, preferably with dry material handling experience and specifically Coffee processing technology mastery.  Mastery of basic chemical engineering principles is a must. History of collaboration with R&D in product and process development. You will be required to leverage your process mastery to develop collaborative solutions for new processes, products and formulas at going economics from the 1st case forward. Ability to work across functions and discipline boundaries, in an agile and rapidly changing environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, and deliver with limited resources. Approximately 25% travel required, primarily within US. There will be occasional periods of more extensive travel for start-up support on new technologies, as well as occasional international travel to suppliers.Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, refugee, asylee or lawful permanent resident.Procter & Gamble is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
