The company is a consortium of the best in the clean tech business – from suppliers, developers and contractors of renewable energy technologies to independent energy conservation consultants and facility management experts. Our consortium also includes tax-oriented investors, as well as construction and lending sources that are capable of delivering the necessary financing for most small- and intermediate-scale projects.

We work with clients who have been unable to access the wave of innovations involving clean technology and energy efficiencies because of small facility size, a lack of capital, or just not knowing where to start. Our company focuses on the private, nonprofit education market, as well as other nonprofit institutions located throughout the Northeast and Mid Atlantic regions. We have offices in three major marketplaces: Pittsburgh, Boston and Portland, Maine, which help us to strategically locate and service our target market.

Position Summary:

Our company currently has an exciting opportunity for an Energy Performance Director at our Pittsburgh, PA, location. The successful candidate should be enthusiastic and knowledgeable in energy conservation and energy management program development. Under general direction, this position monitors and analyzes energy consumption, utility usage, building performance, facility operations and maintenance programs. This position proactively develops recommendations and programs designed to improve energy efficiency and building performance, and consults as an independent advisor for capital improvements, building systems, and energy systems.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

· Maintain positive customer relationships throughout the duration of the contract. Ensure that energy conservation recommendations and programs are supportive of the client’s goals and expectations.

· Install metering equipment as necessary, and monitor energy diagnostic systems to track energy consumption and building performance.

· Coordinate and manage the process that ensures timely collection and accurate data collection from utility bills and diagnostic equipment.

· Pursue an aggressive program to reduce the client’s costs for energy. Compile, maintain and file energy reports and recommendations. Identify applicable improvement measures aimed at reducing the customer’s utility costs, as well as operating and maintenance costs.

· Participate in client meetings and presentations; understand and evaluate energy supply side savings opportunities; create and present energy conservation plans; and monitor project performance.

· Develop and implement training programs that focus on energy conservation, efficient building performance, and energy equipment maintenance.

· Serve as an independent advisor for the implementation of recommendations and programs, including qualified suppliers and service technicians; the outsourcing for more expansive upgrades to controls or systems; and renewable energy systems as needed.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field required. Professional designation of Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or LEED Accredited Professional preferred. At least five years experience in energy management, energy conservation, mechanical systems design, building systems/operations, or closely related field required. Strong computer and analytical skills required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, customer service skills, and public speaking skills required. Ability to travel required.

Compensation and Benefits: Base salary to be determined based upon credentials of selected employee with the eligibility for bonuses within the discretion of the firm’s management. Health insurance, retirement and other benefits will be available for this fulltime position.
