The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company currently has an opening for an Employment Specialist/Recruiter for its' corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio, in the Goodyear Retail Stores, in the Philadelphia, PA, area.
Goodyear is the world's largest tire company with over 750 automotive retail service centers, located in 40+ states. Goodyear's retail stores are divided into districts throughout the United States and make up 4 primary regions.
Department Description:The Human Resource Department for the Retail Goodyear Stores is responsible for supporting the field management for the Goodyear Retail Stores and our field associates within each store. The areas of focus include associate relations, recruiting, performance management, training and development, succession planning and a variety of general HR activities.
Purpose of Position:The primary objective of this position is to recruit for a geographic area spanning over 8-10 districts and 150-200 stores. In addition to this, the Recruiter will plan and execute college recruitment programs and manage the relationship at both local and national target schools. This individual will set up Spring and Fall career fair schedules and on campus recruiting visits and work with college placement offices to establish Goodyear Retail as a preferred Management Training program to recruit candidates into.
Responsibilities:1. Work with the Employment HR Manager and the General Manager's to develop and execute recruitment plan for assigned territory:
a. Screen for potential recruits through selected sources (Monster, Goodyear website, etc.)
b. Collaborate with districts on the forecasting of store requirements for people resources.
c. Interview and provide recommendations on quality of candidates for Store Manager, Service Manager, Auto Technicians and others considered high potential.
d. Measure effectiveness of programs and develop action plans to improve/refine effectiveness.
e. Review candidates that go through Goodyear's tracking system, Fitability, to ensure qualified candidates are interviewed.
2. Assist in the Retail Business' talent acquisition efforts.
3. Provide the leadership and direction for execution of recruiting strategy for an assigned group of districts. The position will work closely with the Employment HR Manager to ensure that recruiting targets and strategy is set and the plan is measured in terms of hiring results for each area.
4. Work with Personnel Development Trainer to ensure new hires are mentored through the on-boarding process and clear on career path opportunities.
5. Co-develop and execute Field Level Succession Plan:
a. Work with Field leadership to identify key gaps and put together a recruiting plan.
b. Establish action plans with District Managers of Retail to address recruiting needs.
c. Measure success through time to hire, retention and number of open positions.
Qualifications:Required-1. Bachelor's or higher level degree or relevant business experience.
2. 3+ years of staffing/recruiting responsibility.
3. Previous college recruiting experience.
4. Solid understanding of the Internet, Microsoft programs and Lotus Notes.
5. Must be residing in Philadelphia.
6. Must be willing to travel 25%+.
7. Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred-1. Experience in a multi-unit retail environment
